
MINSK, 1 September (BELTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to school pupils, students, postgraduates, teachers, and academic staff as Belarus celebrates Knowledge Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“1 September is a special date on the calendar for every Belarusian. It is a day when the entire country celebrates the start of a new academic year, and our children, with awe and excitement, enter school classrooms, college and university lecture halls,” the message of greetings reads. “The closest attention today is on the first-graders and first-year students, who are opening the door to the wonderful world of knowledge and professional development. May this time be productive and engaging, while the education received become a solid foundation for a future career.”
The head of state also made a traditional address to teachers and parents: “The future of the country is in your hands. You are entrusted with the responsible mission of raising a fully-developed individual, helping them to realize their potential, and teaching them to love their Homeland. I am confident you understand this well and will make every effort to ensure our children grow up to be worthy citizens, and that our native Belarus grows stronger and prospers.”
