Sergeyenko, other top officials relieved of their posts to take up jobs as MPs

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed decrees to relieve a number of officials of their posts, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
In accordance with Article 84 of the Constitution of Belarus, Igor Sergeyenko was relieved of the post of Head of the Belarus President Administration as he will take up a job as an elected civil servant.
The following officials were relieved of their duties on the same grounds: Labor and Social Security Minister Irina Kostevich, Aide to the President - Inspector for Minsk Aleksandr Barsukov, Director of the National Center for Legislation and Legal Research Vadim Ipatov, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus Vyacheslav Danilovich.
In addition to that, in line with Article 84 of the Constitution, Major General Gennady Lepeshko was relieved of his post as Head of the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus, and Major General of Justice Andrei Lis was relieved of his post of Head of the Minsk Oblast Directorate of the Investigative Committee as they were elected deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly. They will not be able to serve in the military and in the Investigative Committee respectively as long as they work as MPs.
In accordance with Paragraph 10 of Article 84 and Article 145 of the Constitution of Belarus, Nikolai Maratayev was relieved of his post as Deputy Chairman and judge of the Gomel Oblast Court in connection with his election to another position. He will no longer be in the Presidium of the Gomel Oblast Court.
