Kamenetsky district is administratively divided into 1 urban
(Vysokovsky) and 13 rural councils, which include 234 rural settlements,
including 17 agro-towns.
The district covers an area of 1.7 thousand square
kilometers and is located in the north-west of the Brest region. It borders
with the Republic of Poland, Brest, Zhabinkovsky, Kobrin and Pruzhansky
districts of the Brest region.
Kamenetsky district is one of the largest districts of the
Brest region for the production of agricultural products.
Today, the specialization and main priorities in the
development of our district are agricultural production, processing industry,
including meat and dairy, industrial production based on the use of local raw
materials, the service sector, including tourism, agroecotourism.
Kamenetsky district is one of the largest districts of the

territory is occupied by farmland. The main branches of agriculture are meat
and dairy farming, beet farming, grain and fodder crops, potatoes are grown.
The agro-industrial complex of the district is represented
by 9 open joint stock companies (JSC "Belovezhsky", "Savushkina
Pushcha", "Vidomlyanskoye", "AgroNiva",
"Alexandria-Agro", "Makarovo-Agro",
"Agro-Pelishche", "Agro Turna", "Agro-Zarechye")
and 2 service organizations - JSC "Kamenetsky rayagroservice" and UP
"Kamenetsky PMS".
The industrial complex of the district is represented by the
following main enterprises: LLC "Agroproduct", SOAO "Belovezhsky
cheeses", KUMPP housing and communal services "Kamenetsky housing and
communal services", LLC "Rionasiemzhi", meat processing plant
JSC "Belovezhsky".
The city has preserved many monuments of culture,
architecture, archeology and history of different periods. The pride of the
city is the monument of defensive architecture of world importance “Kamenetsky
Tower", now a branch of the Brest Regional Museum of Local Lore. In the
early 2000s, another restoration of the Kamenetsky Vezha was carried out. In
2005, the museum exposition was updated for the Republican Day of Writing,
which was held in Kamianets.
The Simeon Church is located not far from the tower. St. Simeon's Church was built on the site of
a wooden temple of the 16th century, it is an architectural monument of the
retrospective Russian style. It was built in 1914 for the 300th anniversary of
the dynasty of the House of Romanov. The pride of the Simeon Church is the
majestic carved oak three-tiered iconostasis of the mid-19th century with
images of saints painted in the workshop of the famous Russian artist Viktor
Vasnetsov.
The world-famous national Park "Belovezhskaya
Pushcha" with its administrative center in the village of Kamenyuki,
Kamenetsky district. The popularity of the Forest has spread all over the world
and continues to grow. The primeval forest area of more than 500 square
kilometers is unique for its diverse flora and fauna, rich in history. Tourists
are offered to visit: the museum of nature, sightseeing aviaries, the estate of
Santa Claus - the most famous tourist brand of the country. In 2019, an
open-air archaeological museum was opened in the National Park ”Belovezhskaya
Pushcha". The Skansen museum is based on seven parts that reflect
different eras: from the Mesolithic to the Middle Ages.
